Job Description:

Mid level identity development manager to serve as the Manager of Software Engineering for the Subway Identity team. A Software Engineering professional experienced in leading a software development shop, managing enterprise Identity systems, leading multiple teams of software engineers, and coaching development teams to practice Agile with Test Driven Development and Continuous Deployment practices. Effective in maximizing on-shore and off-shore resources, and experienced in aligning development in multiple locations. Management of multiple projects and increasing complexity and ability to effectively resolve problems. May also manage external vendor, contractors, or off-shore teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Align development, testing, and delivery model for Identity teams to best utilize the appropriate model for each work stream, be it Agile/Scrum or Waterfall, automated functional and non-functional testing as applicable, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code and Continuous Deployment tools and practices. Implement best industry practices in alignment with Enterprise Technology direction.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent technical skills in their area/domain of management
  • An ability to set goals, evaluate and measure performance, and provide informal and formal feedback on performance
  • An ability to delegate and achieve desired results from direct reports and provide accountability at an individual and team level
  • Direct management of technical staff from entry level through senior and lead levels
  • Effective project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects from inception through completion. An eye for quality is a must.
  • An ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts
  • Hands-on skills to participate in technical tasks of team under management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively write
  • Skills to evaluate current methods and practices and implement process improvement measures to mature methods and increase effectiveness

  • An ability to motivate, reward, and provide constructive criticism and corrective action

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree Required (Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field). Master’s degree or Security/Identity certification preferred
  • 10+ years’ of IT related experience preferably in software development or related technical domain areas plus at least 3 years’ of related management experience, 8 years’ in leading software development teams and 5-7 years’ in leveraging agile, test driven development, continuous deployment , and the other industry best practices
